This Bathroom Renovation was completed in Thrapston, Northamptonshire. Our client in Thrapston expressed their desire to upgrade their bathroom, and we were delighted to be contacted for the project. Before we started
The bathroom before had a dark ink blue colour on the walls, which felt quite outdated in terms of design. Additionally, the wall tiles didn’t complement the overall feel and look of the bathroom. They were small, old, and dirty, further adding to the unappealing atmosphere. The wall had a dark blue colour, but the roof was painted white, creating a stark contrast. To make matters worse, the floor was covered with unevenly coloured, dark brownish small tiles, adding to the overall lacklustre appearance of the space.
The shower room was notably smaller and showed significant signs of wear and tear. Its dilapidated state further emphasised the need for a comprehensive renovation. The entire bathroom needed to be redesigned, with careful consideration given to the placement of furniture and fixtures to maximise the available space in this charming yet compact area.
Moreover, the bathroom featured old, traditional-style vanity and furniture that no longer matched the desired aesthetic. It was clear that a complete bathroom fitting was necessary to breathe new life into this tired room. Beyond the cosmetic changes, there was also a need to address the plumbing, drainage (as the old pipes were worn out and required replacement) and all electrics.
Therefore, the project entailed not only updating the visual aspects of the bathroom but also reconfiguring the layout and optimising functionality. The goal was to create a more spacious and inviting environment that would transform this small yet lovely space into a haven of comfort and modern design.
Wall Tiles- After fitting the bathroom
To achieve a visually stunning and cohesive bathroom design, we carefully selected the Diamante Teal Tile for the walls. This exquisite tile is truly a standout in terms of its beauty and elegance. Its captivating colour creates a striking visual impact, adding a sense of depth and sophistication to the overall bathroom aesthetic.
The Diamante Teal Tile harmoniously complements not only the bathroom’s furniture and flooring but also the paint colour of the walls. Its rich and vibrant hue creates a seamless integration with the surrounding elements, resulting in a cohesive and visually pleasing atmosphere.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this polished porcelain tile offers practical benefits as well. Square glass shower room
To create a seamless and functional shower space in the bathroom, we incorporated a sliding glass barrier between the square shower area and the rest of the bathroom, the sliding glass barrier serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it acts as a practical partition, separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom to prevent water splashing and ensure privacy during showering. Its sleek and transparent nature allows natural light to flow through, creating an open and airy atmosphere, within the square shower area.
We installed both a rainfall showerhead and a convenient hand shower to cater to different preferences and needs. The rainfall showerhead delivers a luxurious and gentle cascade of water, the hand shower offers versatility, allowing for targeted rinsing and convenience during daily shower routines.
Storage space in walls
To optimise storage and maintain a neat and organised bathroom, we have ingeniously created storage space within the bathroom walls. These built-in storage compartments offer a convenient solution for storing a variety of bathroom essentials, ranging from shampoos and face washes to shower gels, towels, and soaps, this innovative storage solution ensures that everything has its designated place, allowing for easy access and reducing the visual distraction of scattered toiletries and supplies.
With a quick glance, one can effortlessly locate and retrieve the desired items, enhancing convenience and streamlining daily routines. Not only does this storage solution offer practicality and organisation, but it also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the bathroom.
Mirror
The carefully chosen mirror is designed to provide a clean and clear view, ensuring optimal visibility for the person using it. Equipped with LED lights, the mirror offers enhanced illumination that helps to illuminate the face and provide a well-lit environment for grooming and daily routines. The rectangular shape of the mirror expands the viewing angle, allowing for a broader perspective compared to traditional small mirrors.

No bathroom upgrade is complete without the addition of new and improved lighting. Recognising the importance of proper illumination, we took great care in installing new spotlights on the bathroom’s ceiling. These carefully positioned lights were strategically placed to ensure optimal brightness and eliminate any shadows, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the space.

To enhance both functionality and aesthetics, we incorporated fitted bathroom furniture with white wooden finish which comes with a ceramic basin, the ceramic material is not only durable and easy to clean but also offers a classic and sophisticated aesthetic, to complete the look, we selected the Old London Victorian Monobloc Basin Mixer Taps for the ceramic basin. These taps exude a sense of timeless elegance, combining the charm of Victorian design with modern functionality. The monobloc design offers convenience and ease of use, allowing for precise control of water flow and temperature.
Towel Radiator
We incorporated a sleek and contemporary towel radiator into the upgraded bathroom, adding both functionality and style to the space. While its primary purpose is to serve as source of warmth for the bathroom, contributing to a cosy atmosphere, particularly in colder months. The towel radiator also heat towels, ensuring a warm and cosy experience after shower, the benefits extend beyond just heating up the bathroom. The modern design of the towel radiator not only serves a practical purpose but also adds a touch of elegance to the bathroom décor.
New flooring
To elevate the bathroom’s style and durability, we carefully selected Hampton Black Feature Tiles for the bathroom floor. These tiles are not only of exceptional quality but also designed to withstand the test of time, ensuring long-lasting beauty and functionality.
The choice of Hampton Black Feature Tiles adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to the bathroom’s overall aesthetic. The black colour brings a sense of depth and richness, creating a striking contrast against the surrounding elements in the space.
